It’s almost too good to be true, but it’s not. I first found out about Sami’s Bakery because a selection of their products were available at my local health food store. My beginning selection was their millet and flax chips, specifically the cinnamon chips, because they were not only wheat-free (to reiterate to those who have missed prior posts, wheat is the only thing I’m aware that I’m allergic to) but boasted 12 grams of fiber and were made of single-name ingredients that I could identify, no harsh chemicals or dyes to be found, and tasted like a chip version of a carnival elephant ear or funnel cake. SO GOOD. And no, I’m not being endorsed by this company, these chips are REALLY that good.
After devouring my bag in basically three sittings, I decided to restock but much to my chagrin found out they were sold out. Not surprising, allbeit disappointing. I waited a few weeks, checked back, and this time while in stock I grabbed a couple bags of my cinnamon goodies, and for adventure’s sake added one bag of Sami’s chips in the garlic variety flavor. Needless to say, Sami’s did not let me down. For any of my Greek folk, this is basically the PERFECT chip pairing for any skordalia (whipped garlic spread) lovers. These chips, like their cinnamon brethren, are not only simply made but likewise come packed with 12 grams of fiber and a ton of flavor. Garlic is definitely one of my favorite holistic spices to use and these pack a punch for those who love garlic, though I wouldn’t necessarily recommend them prior to a date night situation. ๐
Now, I thought I was resigned to having to come back to this health food store repeatedly to get my fix following a move, but luckily realized that they might be available online, and not only found out that you can shop online and have Sami’s products delivered, but that their home location bakery is not too far from me located in Tampa, Florida and perfectly feasible for driving to the next time I need to stock up!
For anyone who is not local but would like to try, here’s the link to their gluten-free & vegan options.
